Dr. Mary Kraus
Dr. Mary Kraus is a native Vermonter, growing up in Rutland, VT. She completed her undergraduate studies at UMass Amherst, majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Psychology. Her love of gymnastics catapulted her into high-school cheerleading and then competitive diving in college. She still holds a top-ten record at UMass for 3m springboard! Dr. Mary graduated with honors earning her Doctorate degree from New York Chiropractic College in 2019. She spent a six-month portion of her clinical education residency treating Veterans at the Rochester Veteran Administration Outpatient Clinic in Rochester, NY. She worked for several years in Rutland City with a variety of patient populations from newborns to the elderly.
Throughout her chiropractic career, she has attended a variety of seminars in the following: Motion Palpation Institute, McKenzie Institute, SFMA, and International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Her certifications include: Webster technique certified (a gentle treatment technique for pregnant and postpartum patients, whom she really enjoys working with). She is continuing toward her dry needling certification. She recently purchased the practice from Dr. Julia and Dr. Jim in October 2021 and is happy to continue serving the greater Middlebury area.
Dr. Mary is passionate about her patients’ health. She enjoys educating them on the importance of movement and how chiropractic care can help them improve their quality of life.
When she’s not treating patients, you can find her hiking with her dog, camping, or reading.
Dr. Caitlin Atkinson
Dr. Caitlin is a Rutland, VT native and we promise you’re not seeing double. Dr. Caitlin is Dr. Mary’s twin sister. She attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate studies and she was a student athlete as a member of their All-Girl Cheerleading team. She attended Northeast College of Health Sciences, formerly New York Chiropractic College, for her doctorate in chiropractic. While there, she was heavily involved in student government. She also met her husband, Dr. Jacob!
In her free time, you can find her weight lifting, hiking or running with her two dogs- Lainey and Parker. She still helps coach cheerleading and tumbling skills throughout the state with local middle school and
high school cheer teams on occasion. She recently took up gardening as a hobby and her favorite show is Jeopardy!
Dr. Caitlin specializes in perinatal chiropractic care. She is Webster certified, Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab level 1 certified, RockTape certified and more.
Dr. Jacob Bone
Dr. Jacob grew up in a small town in Ohio, most around Vermont only know about it if they’re avid hunters. He was salutatorian of his high school class and attended The Ohio State University on a full academic scholarship where he received a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition. He went on to attend Northeast College of Health Sciences, formerly New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Jacob is incredibly passionate about overall health, wellness and movement. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, then picked up weightlifting and found a true passion for the gym. He still spends most of his free time lifting weights or hiking with his wife and dogs,
Lainey and Parker. He would love to help teach you how to use movement to mitigate pain in a safe way!
Cheyenne
Cheyenne was originally born in Middlebury, VT and grew up in Brandon. She moved away to live in South Carolina for a little while before making the decision to move back to her home state. She is an Otter Valley and Stafford Technical Center alum, where she excelled in her studies of Medical and Health Careers.
She currently lives in Brandon with her fiancé, Jake, and their three cats. She enjoys being outside, hunting, fishing, and the occasional thrill of mudding. Cheyenne comes from a large, blended family and has heavy ties in the surrounding community. She is the friendly voice you hear on the phone with scheduling appointments and the first smiling face you see when you walk into our office.
We are so grateful for her as she has been the “captain of our ship” in this office for the past 5 years!
